Reaching Rural Carmarthenshire
About the project
-
Cut Off
A large portion of Carmarthenshire is rural and thus cut off from easily accessing support that might be needed. Where there is public transport, often it is unreliable, unaffordable or massively inconvenient to use. All serving to further isolate individuals already in a tough time.

Offering Help
Since August 2022 we have been able to offer help to people that can either visit us directly or manage to call us. We know that there are people who, for various reasons, can’t do either of these. We want to reach out to those rurally located & isolated from easy-access, free support.
-
Bridging The Gap
Whilst it isn’t possible to physically visit every person needing support, we can bridge the gap by creating a service which blends physical meeting with online support. An in-person meeting with a volunteer who will sort out the video call to our Support Volunteers offering the full remit of our Help Centre

Making It Unique
We know that every area and community has its differences and whilst the support is the same, the application can be very different. We work with pre-existing groups in the community who know the local needs to help tailor our services as required. We’re always interested in meeting more local groups so get in touch to see if there’s potential for partnership.
